Credit Controller/Finance Assistant, Castle Donington, £29,756

We are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant/Credit Controller to work within a small team of Credit Controllers working for a National Utilities company based at their Depot in Castle Donington.  You will provide administrative support to ensure all credit control, query resolution and other associated duties are managed efficiently and effectively. The Credit Control section is responsible for the collection of receivables in the company. 

In return you will receive an excellent hourly rate, 26 days holiday + bank holidays after 12 weeks, ongoing training and support and free parking. This is a temporary role, intially for 6 months with the likelihood of being extended and opportunities to apply for permanent roles within the business. Hours are 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday.

The main activities of the Credit Control role will involve:

  • Dealing with customers who have not paid monies by the due time; associated disputes.
  • Dealing with enquiries from customers by telephone and written communication.
  • Liaising with the team managers and team supports at local office to resolve outstanding queries.
  • Producing, recording and filing of follow up letters.
  • Provide up to date debtor information for both weekly and monthly management reporting.

To be successful in the role of Credit Controller you will have:

  • Proven experience within a credit control department or similar environment
  • Diplomacy and tenacity to manage customer relationships
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • The ability to communicate effectively, by writing and verbally, with excellent numeracy and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are achieived
  • A good knowledge of MS Word, Excel (particularly V Look-ups and Pivot Tables) and Outlook
  • Previous experience of the rules and regulations governing such a department
